# Cline on Sideren.

> Cline runs on Sideren through its OpenAI Compatible provider: the gateway URL, your sdn_ key, and any catalog model id.

Cline speaks the OpenAI [Chat Completions](/api/chat-completions) dialect, so it runs on
Sideren through its OpenAI Compatible provider slot.

## One command

```sh theme={null}
npx sideren setup --tool cline --key sdn_your_key
```

The setup helper writes Sideren into Cline's provider settings
(`~/.cline/data/settings/providers.json`, shared by the `cline` CLI and the VS Code
extension) as the OpenAI Compatible provider. See [setup helper](/setup).

## Configure

To set it up by hand, choose these in Cline's model settings:

* API Provider: **OpenAI Compatible**.
* Base URL: `https://api.sideren.io/v1`.
* API key: your `sdn_` key.
* Model id: any catalog model, e.g. `@sdn/glm-5` for heavy coding or `@sdn/gpt-oss-120b` for
  speed.

## Verify

Send Cline a trivial task ("read this file and summarize it") and watch the first reply
arrive. To confirm the key works against the gateway without Cline in the loop:

npx sideren test --key sdn_your_key
```
