# Goose on Sideren.

> Goose runs on Sideren through its built-in openai provider — four environment variables, and OPENAI_HOST takes the bare origin.

Goose speaks the OpenAI [Chat Completions](/api/chat-completions) dialect, so it
runs on Sideren through the built-in `openai` provider with a custom host.

## One command

```sh theme={null}
npx sideren setup --tool goose --key sdn_your_key
```

The setup helper writes Goose's Sideren provider for you. See [setup helper](/setup).

## Configure

Set four variables and start a session — or run `goose configure` → Configure Providers →
`openai` and enter the same values:

```sh theme={null}
export GOOSE_PROVIDER=openai
export GOOSE_MODEL="@sdn/gpt-oss-120b"
export OPENAI_HOST=https://api.sideren.io
export OPENAI_API_KEY=sdn_your_key
goose session
```

<Note>
  Goose is the exception to the `/v1` rule: `OPENAI_HOST` takes the **bare origin**
  (`https://api.sideren.io`, no `/v1`) — Goose appends `/v1/chat/completions` itself.
</Note>

## Verify

Run `goose session` and send a trivial prompt. To confirm the key works against the
gateway without Goose in the loop:

```sh theme={null}
npx sideren test --key sdn_your_key
```
